LocalDrop is designed to respect your privacy. We verify that we do not browse, collect, or upload your personal files (photos, videos, documents) to any cloud server. Your file transfers happen strictly over your local WiFi network between your own devices.

1. Information Collection and Use

While using our Application, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information or allow us to collect data automatically for specific purposes:

A. Personal Data

We do not collect PII (Personally Identifiable Information) such as your name, address, or phone number explicitly.

B. Usage Data & Diagnostics (Firebase)

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve app stability and performance. These services may collect:

  • Device Information (Model, OS version).
  • App Usage Data (Features used, session duration).
  • Crash Logs (Stack traces to help us fix bugs).
  • Installation UUIDs.

C. Advertising Data (AdMob)

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use:

  • Advertising ID (GAID) for personalized ads.
  • Device information and coarse location data to serve relevant ads.

2. Permissions and Access

To provide its core functionality, LocalDrop requires the following sensitive permissions:

A. Manage External Storage (All Files Access)

Why we need this: LocalDrop is a file transfer and management tool. We require full storage access to allow you to:

  • Browse all files and folders on your device.
  • Select any file for transfer.
  • Save received files to any location you choose.

We never upload these files to our servers. They are only transferred to the devices you connect to via the local server.

B. Location & WiFi Access

Why we need this: Android requires Location permission (on older versions) or "Nearby Devices" permission to access WiFi network information (SSID/BSSID). We use this strictly to:

  • Display your current WiFi network name.
  • Identify your device's local IP address to start the server.
  • Generate the QR code for connection.

We do not track your physical location.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons: to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

4. In-App Purchases

Transactions for "LocalDrop Pro" are handled directly by Google Play Store. We do not process or store your payment details (credit card numbers, etc.).

5. Security

We value your trust. We use secure, local HTTP/FTP protocols for file transfer. Session passwords are generated randomly on your device and are cleared immediately after the server stops.

6. Children's Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.

7. Deletion of Data

Since we do not create user accounts or store personal data on our servers, there is no account to delete. You can opt-out of data collection by uninstalling the application or disabling usage statistics in the settings if available.
